SAN FRANCISCO - Nov. 29, 2007 - Embarcadero Technologies, a provider of professional-grade database tools, has appointed Wayne Williams its new CEO. Williams previously served as Embarcadero's COO and senior vice president of products, and before that, as its CTO for more than seven years. "Wayne has demonstrated continued leadership and innovation during his tenure with Embarcadero, and the Board is confident in his ability to lead the company through the next phase of growth," said Orlando Bravo, managing partner of Thoma Cressey Bravo, which acquired Embarcadero earlier this year in a $200 million go-private transaction. Williams has more than 15 years of experience founding and leading companies, as well as spearheading and implementing effective technology strategies. As CTO of Embarcadero, he implemented a globalization strategy that successfully enabled the company to reduce its research and development costs by 40 percent and double its developer headcount. He was previously founder of EngineeringPerformance Inc., which was acquired by Embarcadero in October 2000. Williams was also a founding partner of TCSF, a software services company where he held several key executive positions. He is regarded as an industry thought-leader and the architect of several database-centric tools and technologies. Williams graduated from CDI College of Business and Technology with a degree in computer science.
