Embarcadero Change Manager - Upgrade to 5.0
This page is a resource for licensed Change Manager customers who are already running a prior version of Change Manager and would like to upgrade to Change Manager 5.5.

How do I obtain Change Manager 5.0 product and license? With the recent CodeGear acquisition, we have implemented new software licensing technology and processes. Change Manager is the first Embarcadero DatabaseGear product to incorporate this new license technology that has been successfully used by CodeGear customers for years. To obtain your license, please follow the instructions below:
For Workstation licenses (non-concurrent):
You must first obtain a retail license serial number. If you are the license holder, follow the instructions in your upgrade notice email and go to the new Embarcadero Maintenance Delivery Portal to access your product license and serial number information.
If you do not have the product, click here to download.
For Concurrent licenses: Embarcadero is transitioning to a new licenses server technology called the Embarcadero License Center (ELC). See the section below entitled For Concurrent License Customers and your upgrade notice email for details on how to obtain, install, and license ELC.
If you are an end-user: Please contact the individual in your organization who manages Embarcadero licensing. If you do not know who that is, contact Embarcadero Support, and someone will assist you in locating this individual.
Change Manager Installation Guide This document provides step-by-step instructions for installing Change Manager 5.0. Note: Be sure you fully understand these steps before installing Change Manager 5.0. You may want to continue using your prior version alongside version 5.0 until you are ready to fully transition to version 5.0.
Importing Objects from CM/Schema 4.0 In order to import schema comparison jobs, you need to download an upgrade to CM/Schema 4.0 and install it before installing version 5.0 or 5.0.1. You can verify that you have the upgrade installed by following these steps:
Launch CM/Schema 4.0
Click Help -> About
Verify that the version is Embarcadero CM/Schema Version 4.0.0 (Build 943)
This upgrade build allows Change Manager 5.0, which uses an XML format for job, to interpret and convert your existing version 4.0 job files. Please be sure to follow all the steps within the import wizard, including importing data sources. If Change Manager 5.0 does not import all version 4.0 data sources first, you may not be able to import all of the jobs.
NOTE: If you already installed Change Manager 5.0 and your CM/Schema jobs were NOT imported, please follow these steps:
Download and install the CM/Schema 4.0 upgrade build 943
Install Change Manager 5.0.1
Launch Change Manager 5.0.1
Select File -> Import from the main menu
Select CM Jobs from the Embarcadero group
Click Next
Follow the wizard through to import Configuration, Data, and Schema jobs from 4.0

For Concurrent License Customers "Next Generation Licensing with Embarcadero License Center" This is a transition guide for Change Manager customers using the License Server. This document outlines key differences between the license server you are now using, and Embarcadero's new license server technology, which is used by Change Manager version 5.0.
If you are a concurrent user, please check with your license server administrator for licensing instructions. If you are a license server administrator, please call Embarcadero Support to help with the upgrade to Embarcadero's next-generation licensing technology.
Special Legacy License for Existing Customers Please keep in mind, if you are an existing Change Manager customer and current on maintenance, you will receive a special Change Manager Legacy license in appreciation of your business.
